News and Coming Events

Special Collection – North Uist Church
As mentioned last week, this week we are continuing the collection to support the North Usit congregation’s renovation and transformation of the Carnish Inn into a place of worship.

Church of Scotland Assembly Decision
Last night, at about 10:30, the Church of Scotland General Assembly voted to allow their Aberdeen Presbytery to proceed with the induction of the openly homosexual Rev Scott Rennie.  While we may think the CofS have long been in error in their views about the interpretation of Scripture, last night’s vote presents a serious problem for many of their ministers and members.  Please pray that all believers in the CofS would be given wisdom from God in seeking how to proceed.  Please also strive to welcome them, and extend to them every Christian kindness.

Finance Committee & Kirk Session
There will be a Finance Committee meeting on Tuesday evening, at 7:00pm, followed by a meeting of the Kirk Session.

CWI Rally: The Usual Suspects
CWI’s annual rally will meet in Portree this week.   We will close our mid-week Bible Study that night to allow people to attend.  Lifts can be arranged.
Where: Tigh na Sgire Park Lane, Portree, Wednesday, 27th April @ 7:30pm

Joint Service
Next Lord’s Day it is our turn to host the monthly joint service with the Church of Scotland.  Afterwards, tea (or coffee) will be served and there will be a time for fellowship.

Precenting Workshop
The Kilmuir Church of Scotland will be running a Precenting Workshop on 20th June.  If you are interested, contact Gordon for more details.
