News and Coming Events (D.V.)

This Morning’s Service

Stuart MacKinnon was due to preach this morning, but has taken ill with flu.   In his place we are happy to welcome Jonathan Tink to preach on the same theme.

Tough Questions

Over the next 3 Sunday mornings, the local Free Church and Church of Scotland congregations will share a series of sermons entitled “Tough Questions”.   The aim of these sermons is to help equip believers with information that will go some way to answering some of the toughest questions we can be asked in a sceptical society.   The program here is as follows:

6th February, Jonathan Tink on “Is Jesus the only way?”

13th February, Dave Mockette on “Has science disproved the Bible?”

20th February, Gordon on “What’s the point?”

This will be followed by a public event in Kyle Hotel, on Friday 25th February, where a panel will (try to) answer questions like these from the public.

Mustard Seed Cafe

The Mustard Seed Cafe will be closed this Wednesday, due to an earlier booking by Highland Council.   Rather than push the rota back a week, those on duty will simply have a week off!

Broadford / Kyleakin Evening Services

From today we will be holding 2 services per month in Broadford Village Hall, on the first and third Sundays at 5:00pm.   The other evening services each month will be in Kyleakin, also at 5:00pm.   The Broadford service will be followed each week with a time for questions and discussion, and tea/coffee will be provided.

The monthly joint service will also take place at the Strath end of the congregation.   It will continue as at present, the last Sunday at 6:00pm, and when it is our turn we will meet in the Kyleakin Church of Scotland building (but will be a Free Church service).   This means all our morning services will be in Sleat, and all our evening services will be in Strath.
