News and Coming Events (D.V.)

Teen Challenge Bus Ministry

The long anticipated bus work under Stevie Boyle’s leadership is about to begin.   We hope to have a bus deployed within weeks, and are now at the stage of putting together a staffing rota for taking the bus out at the weekends.   There will be a meeting this evening, at about 7:45pm, in Kyleakin CofS just after their weekly fellowship, to discuss plans in more detail.   Please try to make it to this meeting if the Lord has at all laid this work on your heart, even if you will only be committed to praying for the work.

Joint Prayer Meeting

The mid-week meeting on Wednesday will be a joint meeting with the Kyle congregation.   This is to introduce the American team, and sort of commission them for working in our area.   This meeting will be in the Broadford Village Hall, at 7:30pm.   We hope to follow this meeting with a “cup of tea”, and a chance to meet the team informally.

John Blanchard – Is God past his sell-by date?

John Blanchard, author of Does God Believe in Atheists? will be speaking at an event in Kyleakin Village Hall on Friday 17th June, and 7:30pm.   This event is geared towards responding to the challenges of unbelief in our society, and would be very suitable to bring non-Christian family or friends along to.   John Blanchard is a challenging speaker, and will deal with questions from the public.

Sunday School & Congregational BBQ

Because of the John Blanchard meeting, and trying to juggle the commitments of the American Team, we want to push the date of the barbeque back a week to the 25th June, and plan to hold the Sunday School prize giving at a special service the following day (26th June).   Could those helping with different aspects of this please meet after the mid-week meeting on Wednesday.

Sale of Work – Date for the Diary

After hearing from a couple of people, it was decided the annual sale of work for the Church Fabric Fund will be held in Broadford village hall on 3rd September.
